Privacy Policy

Athene is a web application developed by Webrepublic AG that uses multiple APIs (mainly marketing ones) to fetch and modify its resources.

Privacy

  • Our application will access Google user data you have provided to us, including your Google account information (first name, last name, and email).
  • We will use your Google user data to identify you, communicate with you, and provide the services you requested. We limit our use of Google user data to providing or improving user-facing features that are prominent in the requesting application's user interface. All other uses of Google user data are prohibited. Google Workspace APIs are not used to develop, improve, or train generalized or non-personalized AI and/or ML models.
  • Access to any other service has to be manually requested by you.
  • In order to get data from the aforementioned data sources we store the required access tokens on our servers.
  • Your personal access tokens are not shared with any other third parties.
  • We do not transfer or disclose your information, including Google user data, to third parties for purposes other than the ones provided. We do not sell, trade or rent your personal information to third parties. We do not transfer Google user data to third parties for targeted advertising, selling to data brokers, providing to information resellers, determining credit-worthiness, lending purposes, or training generalized machine-learning (ML) or artificial intelligence (AI) models.
  • Data processing and token storage is taking place on our servers hosted by Amazon Web Services.
  • For caching, we temporarily store requested data in a managed service provided by Amazon Web Services.

Data Retention

  • We store your personal information for a period of time that is consistent with our business purposes. Some of your data may be stored permanently to display it to you upon request.
  • We send debugging and error data to 3rd party services (Sentry and AWS CloudWatch) to help improve the user experience.
  • In order to improve performance your data may be cached for up to a maximum of 2 months. When the data retention period expires for a given type of data, we will delete or destroy it.
  • You may request for your data to be deleted at any time by contacting us at swe@webrepublic.com.

Security

  • Security procedures are in place to protect the confidentiality of your data. We use encryption to protect your information.
  • All data transfers are performed using SSL encrypted HTTP connections.
  • Authorization for most data sources is done via the OAuth1 or OAuth2 mechanism which does not require you to give us your credentials. Authentication takes place on the site of the data source, providing us with a grant in the form of an access token to retrieve the data on your behalf.
    • You can revoke these grants at any time in the account settings of the respective data source, preventing any further access.
